Officers responded to the 100 block of Union Road a little after 6 a.m. The large branch had struck 113 and 119 Union Road in addition to the car.
The homes were briefly evacuated before they were found to be safe.
No one was hurt.
The street was expected to remain closed as the branch is removed and repairs are made to overhead power lines.
